Summary | 0003733: COM AE Mapping fActive to TransitionTime is not accurate.
Description | In COM AE fActive changes when an alarm goes active - it does not change when the alarm goes inactive. This means it cannot be directly mapped TransitionTime.

What section of the specification are you referring to? and do you have a suggestion as to what to change? The COM mapping is just informative? |
The COM mapping is wrong and this is misleading because people read the spec and think that their existing alarm implementations can be mapped to AC as described by the spec. This is a problem even if it is informative. |
questions: This text is a description (it is informative) of what the Sample A&E wrapper and A&E proxy do, so has the code been changed, does it have a different mapping - if so what is it? which section are you refereeing to the wrapper or proxy? (UA to A&E or A&E to UA) both are one directional if I remember correctly? based on your comment - setting the transition time from FActive change is not incorrect (UA from A&E). Do we need to identify other items that could also set the transition time? |
This is a bug in the wrapper. No one is going to fix the wrapper code but we should not simply ignore the bug and move on. At a minimum there should be text in the appendix that flags the behavior as a known bug and points out that vendors developing their own wrappers cannot simply map the fActive to transition time and this information must come from non-COM AE sources. |
from meeting - theis about ftActiveTime, not ftTime and it is about the wrapper. |
Added text to indicate that it does not apply to some alarm type and it is about the transition to true for the active state. |
